Tuesdays at Two and other Taiwanese updates...

Tuesdays at Two group, at Trinity Church in Cheadle, welcomed a visit to learn about the United Reformed Churches Global Partnership with The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.
Around 50 men and women attended and shared together with Taiwanese music, pictures, Paiwan sacred beads and special waistcoats! We shared an afternoon together about Taiwanese life, food, faiths and language. The group were keen to buy several copies of the Taiwanese CD available by indigenous, aboriginal Taiwanese peoples who are Christian. The song cover also gives translations of the words sung and was a special way in which we as Christians of different denominations can share together through music and learning how our brothers and sisters in Christ live in Taiwan.
Earlier in the year a group from Heald Green URC and the church from Salford Central also invited me to share in their worship and groups about our Global Partnership.
This year two churches have also been able to partner with Presbyterian Churches in Chiayi Presbytery.
This coming autumn Lancashire Area will hold an event for local people in order to share more about our partnership and keep it alive through local friendship and involvement.
2009 will see new opportunities for Christians from United Reformed Churches including adults from South and Central Areas and young people from FURY able to participate in upcoming visits to Taiwanese Christians. News about serving overseas in Taiwan will also be available through the synod bags on Sat 8th Nov at Christ Church URC, Morecambe. These will be posted here soon too! Watch this space...
