New opportunities in Taiwan 2009

There are several opportunties for adults and young people to go to share in the life of our Global Partner Church this year, The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, including volunteering at a young peoples residential centre in central Taiwan, teaching English to children aged 4-7years in Chiayi Presbytery and a young peoples visit in June-July.
In October this year there will be a group visit to Taiwan including Chiayi Presbytery for approx. 12days for lay people from South and Central Areas of NWSynod. The information about this will be available at the South and Central Area Meetings (only) of this coming Synod on Saturday 14th March.
The Global Partners programme of our synod is primarily focussed on creating opportunities for adults who would not financially be able to visit Taiwan, have little or no travel experience, are active members in their local United Reformed Church, have a broad view of the URC and are prepared to share their learning and visit actively with a variety of people on their return including at Synod and a debrief day.
Application forms will be available at NW Synod Area meetings.
There will be further opportunities for other interested adults to take part in a group visit at a later date - likely in 2010 when the NW Synod will also host a second visit from Chiayi Presbytery.
