Update on Taiwanese things in our synod

Since November 2010 this is what has happened with our synod Global Partners programme:
Angela Bogg from South Area of North Western Synod is representing us from the Global Partners Programme in relation to The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. It is a meeting with others linked with the Global Partners laypeoples programme of the United Reformed Church across the UK.
She will make a report about what has happened and it will be posted here for your use in local United Reformed Churches in NWSynod.
Currently a review of our Global Partners programme is underway where I have contacted all people in our synod who have a link with Taiwan and the programme and/or have visited Taiwan.
If you would like to have input about the future of the programme - its shape, focus, future visits, exchanges, youth involvement, budget or have any concerns or questions please contact me by email as soon as possible and by one week after Easter. Your church minister or secretary has contact details for all ministers in the URC.
I have also met several times with Revd Shou-Hui Chung Taiwanese chaplain to mandarin speaking students in Manchester and London. I am part of her management committee. We have identified areas of growth and opportunity for her ministry and that of extending the work in Manchester and London and across the synod including through the visits of the mandarin-speaking choir to local churches, the hospitality scheme operating in South and Central Areas of our synod.
I have also met with two senior staff from the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan regarding the review, Shou-Hui's role, Chiayi Presbytery's hopes for the future of our partnership and more!
If you would like to be more involved in our partnership programme with our Taiwanese brothers and sisters please dont hesitate to get in touch with me! I'd love to hear from you about your ideas and suggestions for improving our relationships, communication across our churches about the partnership and with news and prayers.
kind regards and blessings, Revd Kate Gray
