Please encourage those you know to email the Japanese Foreign Minister ASAP by clicking below:

The current situation is desperate as you are aware, but today - Christian Aid Sunday - (and we know that Christian Aid has voiced concern over the situation in the NE....) I can also bring you the links to the Channel 4 coverage last Tuesday. For their part in arranging the news coverage, the journalist and his team have been deported from Sri Lanka. Please see the clips which are only a few minutes long. Maybe there is something of hope in the fact that news is eventually coming out..... and that some great difficulties in doing this have in this instance been overcome.. The important thing here, is that although they have not gone to the area which is under heavy bombardment by cluster bombs etc - they are managing to show the conditions of the internment camps the displaced people are being forced to live in.....

If possible could you show these clips in worship at church, in a prayer group or bring to peoples attention through your church website.
Since our March Synod I hope local churches are positively responding with actions as we agreed to do and to use our technology, power and democracy to do what we can to put pressure where it is needed so that brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka will know the world is listening and responding with prayerful action in the name of Jesus Christ and his justice.
