Pray for Asian Consultation in Taiwan

Bridgebuilders International is holding a consultation in Kaoshiung, Taiwan from May 29th to June 2nd on the theme 'The Role of Women Upholding the Dignity and Integrity of All God's Creation.' Please pray for the 150 women gathering at the consultation from around Asia and the world who will take part in worship, workshops, bible studies and hear speakers on this theme including a session on trafficking and slavery of women and children. Sunday 18th May is Not for Sale Sunday in the UK churches when all churches are encouraged to theme their services and use material from CHASTE http://www.chaste.org.uk/ It is hoped that churches of the North Western Synod will also download worship materials including prayers, poems, reflections and stories on this theme from the CHASTE website either Sunday 18th May or soon after. There are posters and prayer cards still available from the same website and this will enable us to connect further with our Taiwanese sisters and brothers in solidarity as they work on their theme at the conference later this month. Please also pray for Chinese people on the mainland after the devastating earthquake this week. The Disasters Emergency Committee is making aid available to the Chinese people. You can contribute if you are able via the Christian Aid website http://www.christianaid.org.uk/
Please use this material in your churches and pray for the Chinese people, the Asian consultation and respond in worship and action in the UK as you are able with your gifts and resources.

If you need further support or advice please don't hesitate to contact Revd Kate Gray. Contact details through your minister or church secretary or via the nwsynod website http://www.nwsynod.org.uk/
