Taiwanese Dance Group visit The Lowry in May 09!

Taiwanese Cloud Gate Dance Theatre are visting The Lowry on Fri 2nd & Sat 3rd May 8pm. Perhaps your United Reformed Church would like to organise a visit together to see one of these special performances? Tickets are £12-20 and there may be some discounts for some people. On Fri 2nd May there is a free post show talk to learn more.

Seventy minutes of pure reflection await you in this monochrome show choreographed by Lin Hwai-Min, the company’s founder and Artistic Director, and a two-time winner of the National Award for Arts in Taiwan. Ethereal wonder becomes elemental reality as the stage slowly becomes covered with a layer of water and the 24-strong troupe move with sublime fluidity to selections of music from Six Suites for Solo Cello by J.S. Bach. Moon Water is a study of real vs unreal, of effort vs effortlessness, of ying vs yang – with all elements remaining in a rare and elegant balance.
By the end of the performance the stage is flowing with water! This sounds like an interesting performance and an opportunity to learn more from Taiwanese dance, music and culture.
If you would like any further support in relation to this event at The Lowry as a church then please do contact Revd Kate Gray, St. Marks URC in Manchester. The minister or secretary of the church can give you my contact details.
