It is for every local United Reformed Church in our Synod to participate in together!

Chiayi Presbytery of The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan & North Western Synod of The United Reformed Church

Purposes:

• to foster a meaningful partnership between the United Reformed Church (represented by the Synod) and the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (represented by the Presbytery);


• to affirm, challenge and encourage each other as we seek to demonstrate our unity in CHrist and work towards the unity of Christ's church in the world;


• to learn more about each other's church life, culture and society and to learn from each other about the challenges and hopes for mission in our two countries.

We hope to achieve this through:

1. one group visit each year during 2007-2011, with an emphasis on lay people and young people, starting with a visit to Taiwan in early 2007,


2. encouraging direct links between local congregations and teaching institutions;


3. using study and worship material written by our churches in the other;


4. supporting the work of the Chaplain to Taiwanese students based in Manchester, UK.
